Pamidimukkala Named NECVA New England Player of the Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in a row, senior Praveen Pamidimukkala was voted the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division Player of the Year. In addition, he earned his fourth All-Division First Team award. Ryan Dean also represented MIT on the New England All-Division Team as he received his second straight Second-Team nod.
The Engineers, currently ranked No. 11 in the country, will continue their season this weekend at the NECVA Championship Tournament. As the No. 9 seed, MIT will take on No. 8 Hunter College on Friday, April 4 at 8:00 p.m. at Ramapo College. Earlier this year, both squads met at the Stevens Invitational where the Cardinal and Gray swept the Hawks, 30-26, 30-27, 30-24. Pamidimukkala led the way with 15 kills and three aces while Scott Pollom posted 11 kills and five blocks. Michael Demyttenaere notched eight kills and four blocks as Malcolm Bean contributed eight kills with a hitting percentage of .438. Philip Rogoz registered 39 assists and five blocks while Dean and Garrett Winther finished with eight and seven digs, respectively.
