No. 2 Nazareth Sweeps No. 10 Philadelphia Biblical

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 2 seed and nationally-ranked No. 5 Nazareth College registered a 30-24, 30-22, 32-30 victory over No. 10 seeded Philadelphia Biblical University in quarterfinal action of the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) Championship Tournament on Saturday. With the win, the Golden Eagles (27-4) advance to the semifinals where they will face No. 6 seed Vassar College. The Crimson Eagles closed their season with a ledger of 21-12.

Nazareth compiled a team hitting percentage of .343 as Billy Gimello led the way with 17 kills and a .469 hitting effort. Hans Schroeder posted 10 kills, a .412 hitting performance, and six blocks as Frank Leahy tallied 43 assists, seven digs, and five blocks. Chris DeHority anchored the defense with 15 digs while Kelvin Rolle registered seven blocks. Ryan Johnsen added six blocks for the Golden Eagles.

Justin Brubaker paced Philadelphia Biblical with 20 kills as Leandro Dueck notched 17 kills and 14 digs. Drew Dillon compiled 41 assists and two blocks while Andrew Dittman contributed a team-high three blocks.
