NEW LONDON, Conn. – MIT water polo defeated Connecticut College, 14-9, on Saturday afternoon, remaining undefeated in games against the Camels since the series began back in 2000. The Engineers are now 6-7 for the season as they head to Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. for their final game of the weekend against St. Francis College.
Freshman Kale Rogers (Newberg, Ore.) scored six goals throughout the game to lead the Engineers to the win. Other pivotal players for MIT included junior Craig Cheney (Sherwood, Ore.) and freshmen Joe Kusters (Coronado, Calif.) and Ory Tasman (Orlando, Fla.), who scored two goals apiece. Sophomore Jack Clark (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and junior Michael Farid (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) solidified the victory with one goal each.
Senior goalkeeper Kevin Hsiue (Alamo, Calif.) recorded six blocks throughout the 32 minutes of game time, while junior keeper Clayton Witter saved 14 shots.
MIT will look for a second win of the weekend when they travel to St. Francis College for a 6:00 p.m. game tonight.
