CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Andrew Erickson (Shorewood, Wis.) was rewarded with a solid showing over the weekend with the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's cross country runner of the week award for the week of October 2. Erickson helped the nationally-ranked No. 9 Engineers take second place at the Bowdoin College Invitational, finishing behind only the host Polar Bears.
Erickson and the rest of the Cardinal and Gray squad were getting a preview of the eight-kilometer course that will host this year's New England Division III championship next month. The senior finished with a time of 27:04.64, good for 11th place.
Erickson is the third different Tech harrier to take home conference honors this year, joining teammates Daniel Harper (Naperville, Ill.) and Benjamin Mattocks (Sharon, Mass.) who were recognized previously this fall.
