Men’s Cross Country Returns from UMass-Dartmouth Invitational With a Win
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – At the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational this Saturday, the MIT men's cross country team returned victorious after coming first in a 39-team field with 63 points. Senior Logan Trimble (Clearwater, Fla.) finished highest of the Engineers when he crossed the tape in third place in the varsity 8k with a time of 24:44.50. Junior Justin Bullock (Detroit, Mich.) won the sub-varsity competition in 25:50.91.
In the varsity race, sophomore Benji Xie (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) and senior Ben Mattocks (Sharon, Mass.) also finished in the top 15. In the sub-varsity competition, sophomore Ricardo Paez (Ontario, Calif.), junior Eric Safai (Los Altos, Calif.) and classmate Jay McKenna (Hilliard, Ohio) finished the race with just 20 seconds between them.
MIT will return to action when they take part in the Purple Valley Classic in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
