Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at Purple Valley Classic
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - At the Purple Valley Classic on Saturday afternoon, the MIT men's cross country team finished in fifth place behind highly ranked teams such as host Williams, Middlebury, NYU and Fordham. In the 8k, senior Logan Trimble (Clearwater, Fla.) was the first Engineer to cross the line in 16th place with a time of 26:56.
Freshman Edgar Gridello (Douvainer, France), senior Ben Mattocks (Sharon, Mass.) and sophomore Allen Leung (Arcadia, Calif.) followed shortly after Trimble, finishing in 26th, 29th and 32nd place respectively. Freshman Ian Tolan (Binghamton, N.Y.), sophomore Matt Jordan (Matthews, N.C.) and junior Roy Wedge (Lawrence, Kan.) all crossed the line within five seconds.
MIT will next compete in the NEICAAA Championships which will take place on Oct. 7
