  • Maloney Earns All-American Honors as No. 7 Men's Cross Country Finishes 16th at NCAA's

    Led by a 19th-place finish by junior Dennis Maloney (New Albany, Ohio), the No. 7 ranked MIT men’s cross country team placed 16th out of 32 teams at the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championship. Maloney earned All-American status for the second straight year with his final time of 24:43.74 over the eight-kilometer course.

  • No. 10 Men's Cross Country Repeats as NCAA Regional Champions

    Led by a third-place finish by junior Dennis Maloney (New Albany, Ohio), the No. 10 ranked MIT men’s cross country team claimed its second NCAA New England Regional title with a total of 81 points on Saturday morning. The win, which is MIT’s third overall regional crown, earns the Engineers an automatic spot in the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championship.

    Led by individual champion and NEWMAC Runner of the Year Dennis Maloney (New Albany, Ohio), the No. 10 ranked MIT men’s cross country team claimed its 20th straight NEWMAC Championship with a total of 18 points over the 8K course at Franklin Park. The Engineers are the only team to win the NEWMAC men’s title in the 20-year history of the event.
  • MIT Lands 12 on Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team

    The MIT men’s cross country team had a league-high 12 student-athletes named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team. Overall, just 29 men’s cross country runners were honored league-wide.

    Led by a sixth-place finish by junior Dennis Maloney (New Albany, Ohio), the No. 12 ranked MIT men’s cross country team finished sixth out of 38 teams with 214 points at the 2017 Cowbell Classic. The meet is the preview meet for the NCAA Division III National Championship, which will be held on this course on Saturday, November 18th.

    Led by a sixth-place performance from junior All-American Dennis Maloney (New Albany, Ohio), the No. 12 ranked MIT men’s cross country team finished second at the NEICAAA Championship on Saturday and claimed the D3 New England title with a total of 124 points. Maloney, who earned his first D3 New England title, led three MIT runners in the top 20. The Engineers are currently ranked No. 12 in the USTFCCCA Division II national rankings and second in the New England region.

    MIT junior Josh Rosenkranz (Glencoe, Ill.) has been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s cross country Athlete of the Week for his performance in the season-opening Purple Valley Classic.
  • No. 8 Engineers Place Sixth at Purple Valley Classic

    At the season-opening Purple Valley Classic on Saturday afternoon, the No. 8 ranked MIT men’s cross country team placed sixth overall out of 26 teams with a total of 144 points over the eight-kilometer course. The Engineers competed against six nationally-ranked teams, including four in the top 15 as MIT finished just ahead of No. 24 Dickinson.
  • Men's Cross Country Tabbed as NEWMAC Favorite in Preseason Coaches Poll

    Westwood, Mass. (August 30) -- The MIT men’s cross country team, which placed seventh at the 2016 NCAA Division III National Championship, has been chosen first in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Preseason Coaches Poll. The Engineers won their 19th straight NEWMAC title last year, along with the NCAA New England Regional Championship.
