Yermie Cohen Named NEWMAC Runner of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Juinor Yermie Cohen has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Runner of the Week after leading the Engineers to a solid performance at the All-Division New England Championship.

Cohen split 26:00 in the hot and humid conditions to place 35th overall in a field of 260. Cohen's finish paced the Engineers to 12th out of 43 in the team standings, including the fourth-best finish among Division III schools.

Cohen, who served as MIT's top runner for the first time in 2007, joins junior Jake Ruzevick as the second student-athlete to garner weekly honors from the NEWMAC this season.
