Springfield, Mass. (February 6) – For the second time this season sophomore Taylor V'Dovec (Blaine, Wash.) represented MIT on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Player of the Week Honor Roll. In a 2-0 week for the Engineers, she averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the floor.
In a non-conference 69-54 win over Wesleyan University last Tuesday, V'Dovec posted her second double-double of the season courtesy of a team-high 13 points and game-high 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. She followed this up by leading MIT with 22 points and nine boards in an 83-70 victory against NEWMAC foe Smith College on Saturday.
The Engineers (17-4, 10-2 NEWMAC) continue their home stand on Wednesday, Feb. 8 when they battle conference rival Clark University at 7:00 p.m.
