Boston, Mass. (February 24) – The MIT women's basketball team saw a league-high and program-record seven student-athletes earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference accolades as announced by the league on Wednesday. The list is comprised of 30 student-athletes who earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the 2016 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the team for the entire season.
Senior Liana Ilutzi (East Hanover, N.J.) along with juniors Cathryn Hart (Charlestown, Mass.) and Lindsay Westlake (Brookline, Mass.) received their second award while sophomores Sophie Gershon (New York, N.Y.), Kara Holinski (Livonia, Mich.), Kristen Ngan (Sudbury, Mass.), and Dolly Yuan (San Jose, Calif.) were first-time qualifiers.
