Box Score

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT women's basketball team fell to NEWMAC foe Clark University, 66-50, on Saturday. Clara Yuan paced the Engineers (6-12, 2-7 NEWMAC) with 15 points and added five rebounds.

Tech's offense struggled at the outset as it did not make a field goal until Yuan's lay up at 13:25. The Cougars eventually established a 19-6 advantage midway through the opening half. Back-to-back baskets by Cherelle Walls sparked a 19-6 run that resulted in a tie at 25 with 3:23 remaining. Clark regained the lead and entered the intermission with a 31-28 edge.

The Cougars opened the second stanza with five quick points. A lay up from Michal Ruchelsman and a free throw by Yuan cut MIT's deficit to five (36-31) at the 18:09 mark. That would be as close as it would get as Clark went on to outscore the Engineers, 30-19, to close out the game.

Kimberly Soo Hoo totaled 14 points for the second game in a row and dished out five assists. Christa Margossian collected a game-high 13 rebounds and contributed seven points.
