Women’s Lightweight Crew Announces 2012-13 Freshman Class
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A group of six incoming freshmen will be added to the roster of the MIT Women's Lightweight Crew program the coaching staff has announced. The class will add their talents to a program that finished the 2011-12 season ranked No. 8 in the country.
"This is our largest class of incoming recruits in a few years, remarked Amelia Booth, the team's Novice Coach. "We are excited to see how their talent and enthusiasm can add to our overall team speed this coming season."

Ella Branch (Charlotte, N.C., St. Paul's School): Lettered in both crew and cross country in high school.
Joyce Hong (Belle Mead, N.J., Montgomery High School): Coxswain … rowed at the Mercer Junior Rowing Club … National Merit Scholar Finalist … National Honor Society.
Anne Kim (Montclair, N.J., Montclair High School): Part of a lightweight 8+ crew that finished second at the 2012 Stotesbury Cup Regatta … National Honor Society … New Jersey Governor's School of Engineering and Technology.
Christina La (Santa Clara, Calif., Homestead High School): 2012 US Rowing Scholastic Honor Roll … also competed in gymnastics in which she was the 2008 Norcal Level 10 state champion.
Madison Noteware (Bryn Mawr, Pa., Balwin High School): Part of a crew that finished second at the Philadelphia Cities Championship … second at the US Rowing Youth Nationals in 2010 … also competed in soccer, cross country and swimming … rowed with the Undine and Fairmont rowing clubs … US Rowing Honor Roll Honorable Mention.
Gillian Yang (Erie, Pa., Mercyhurst Preparatory School): Member of a crew that finished fourth at the Mother's Day Regatta at St. Catherines, Ontario … National Honor Society … Commended National Merit Scholar.
