Women's Novice Lightweight 8 Places Ninth at Green Monster

THE BASICS:

- Location: Hanover, N.H. (Connecticut River)

- The Lead: On Sunday afternoon at the 2016 Green Monster Regatta, hosted by Dartmouth College, the MIT novice lightweight 8 crew placed ninth out of 13 boats in a time of 18:43.3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The novice lightweight 8 rowed well on Sunday, holding a higher stroke rate than they had planned at 30-32 with the help of a tail wind and tail current. Freshman coxswain Jennifer Nwenyi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) steered an excellent course, including tight on the last turn coming into the finishing line bridge.

- MIT returns to action on Saturday, November 12th as the Engineers compete in the Foot of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, Mass. The varsity 8 race will begin at 10 a.m., with the varsity 4 at 10:45 a.m. and the novice 8 competing at 11 a.m.
