Engineers Placed Second to Tufts University in Final Home Regatta

THE BASICS:

- Location: Boston, Mass. (Charles River)

- The Lead: In the final home regatta of the season for the MIT women's lightweight rowing team and this year's senior class, the Engineers finished second to Tufts University on Saturday on the Charles River. This marked the first time MIT has rowed against Tufts, which is ranked No. 3 nationally in openweight, this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- in really good conditions on the Charles, the MIT novice boat crossed in a time of 7:54.170 to get things started for the Engineers. In the second varsity 8 competition, MIT crossed in a time of 7:45.257, while the varsity 8 crew finished in 7:08.058 to place just over eight seconds behind the boat from Tufts.
