CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following its best-ever showing at the Patriot League championship on Sunday, in which the Varsity 8 placed second out of six teams, MIT had four student-athletes named to the women's rowing All-Patriot League team on Wednesday. Seniors Catherine Crowley (New York, N.Y.) and Allison Simi (West Windsor, N.J.) were tabbed to the first team all-league while senior Grace Lin (Newton, Mass.) and sophomore Erin Meyer (Austin, Texas) were second team selections. It was the third consecutive All-League nod for Crowley while the others were being recognized for the first time.
All four honorees were a part of Tech's Varsity 8 crew at the Patriot League championship that finished just over two seconds behind the winning crew from Bucknell University. Crowley sat in the eighth seat, Simi in the seventh and Meyer in the sixth while Lin was the coxswain of MIT's top boat.
The Cardinal and Gray finished third in the team standings at the Patriot League championship, bolstered by the V8 and a third-place showing by the Varsity 4. With 25 points, the Engineers were just behind the U.S. Naval Academy (29) and Bucknell (34).
