Women’s Openweight Crew Competes at Dartmouth Green Monster
HANOVER, N.H. – On a crisp, fall day in New England the MIT women's openweight crew team competed in its third regatta of the fall season, sending a pair of novice crews to the Dartmouth Green Monster race. The Engineers fared well, placing eighth and 13th overall.
MIT's A crew had the best day with its eighth-place finish out of the 15 teams in the event. The Engineers completed the three-mile row on the Connecticut River in 18:29, just edging out a lightweight crew from Radcliffe by three seconds. MIT finished in a tightly packed grouping and was within 20 seconds of crews from Vermont and UMass.
Finishing 13th overall, the MIT B crew turned in a time of 20:06, finishing 17 seconds behind a boat from Dartmouth. The Engineers finished well ahead of both the UMass C and Vermont C entries.
MIT will conclude its fall season on Saturday, November 10 when it races at home in the Foot of the Charles event.
