CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Last Saturday, the MIT women's fencing team went 4-2 in Northeast Fencing Conference matches at a meet hosted by Boston College. Despite falling to BC and Brown, the Engineers record improved to 9-8 (8-4 NFC), as they picked up wins against Smith, Dartmouth, Vassar and Tufts.

Senior Cordelia Link posted the best record among the Cardinal and Gray's primary fencers, finishing the day 11-3, including a 3-0 showing against Tufts. Jenna Caldwell (12-6) and Lindley Graham (10-7) were also major contributors to the foil team, while Julia Hopkins (4-1) substituted into bouts against Dartmouth and Smith.

The Engineers' best performance came in sabre, as Annabeth Gellman and Molly Kozminsky paced the team, each finishing at 14-4. Junior Elena Tatarchenko held her own (11-6) and Laura Evans saw some action (1-0), as the squad combined for 40-14 over the six matches.

Led by senior Stephanie Shin (13-5), the epeeists finished a respectable 27-27. Kirsten Hessler (7-11), Sophie Monahan (5-10) and Rachel Williams (2-1) rounded out MIT's participants.
