Women's Fencing Defeats Tufts at MIT-Brandeis Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT women's fencing team wrapped up regular season competition on Sunday, Feb. 4 by hosting the MIT-Brandeis Invitational. The Engineers (12-11) defeated Tufts University (16-11), but fell to New York University (19-8), Duke University (18-9), Penn State University (26-1), University of Pennsylvania (26-1), and Princeton University (19-8).

Nancy Hua and Cordelia Link both posted records of 6-12 as the foil team finished at 17-37. Lindley Graham contributed a mark of 5-13 to Tech's cause.

Yushin Chen was the third member of MIT's squad to notch a total of 6-12, which lifted the sabre team's tally to 14-40. Laura Evans went 3-11 while Heather Pressler posted a ledger of 4-13. Hareem Ahmad rounded out the group with a record of 1-3.

The epee team turned in a 13-41 record, led by Stephanie Shin's tally of 5-12. Joanna Tong (4-11), Nicole Koulisis (3-15), and Stephanie Couch (1-3) completed the scoring for Tech's contingent.
