Women's Fencing Closes Season at NCAA Regional

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - This past weekend, the MIT women's fencing team competed in the NCAA Northeast Regional hosted by Harvard University. Gemma Mendel fell two spots shy of making the cut for the national meet as she placed 13th in foil.
Nancy Hua and Barrette Strickland bolstered the foil team's efforts with final rankings of 16th and 22nd. The members of the epee squad placed within several spots of each other, with Mika Tomczak leading the way (19th), followed by Joanna Tong (22nd), and Lele Yu (24th). Lynn Wang led the sabre team with an 18th-place finish while Shauna Jin was 23rd and Yushin Chen ranked 34th.
