Field Hockey Climbs Up NFHCA Coaches Poll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After holding steady at No. 19 in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Coaches Poll for two weeks, the MIT field hockey team moved up to the 17th spot as announced by the association today. There was considerable movement within the poll, resulting in NEWMAC foes Wellesley College (No. 19) and Mount Holyoke College (No. 20) joining the Engineers on the list.

Currently maintaining a 7-0 record heading into Thursday night's game at Endicott College, MIT is fourth in the country in assists per game (3.86) and points per game (14.14), fifth in goals per game (5.14), sixth in scoring average (4.96) and scoring margin (4.13), and 13th in goals against average (0.83).
