Chandler, Ariz. (December 6) – Junior Emily Penn (Columbia, Md.) became the 13th player in the history of the MIT field hockey program to receive All-America honors following her placement on the third team as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Tuesday. This is her first national accolade from the organization.
A three-time NFHCA New England East Region first-team selection and NEWMAC All-Conference first-team pick, Penn led the NEWMAC in goals (20) and was third in points (44). Her totals tie for fourth and sixth in the MIT record book while her goals per game average (1.11) ranked 14th in the country. Penn currently stands fourth all-time in career goals (53) and fifth in career points (113).
