CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT field hockey team's overall record fell to 3-3 on the year following a 6-0 loss to Nichols College on Tuesday night. Senior netminder Alexa Herman collected a season-high 18 saves for the Engineers.
Lauren Pettoruto scored the first two goals of the game, both coming on penalty corners. Samantha Lacerra gave the Bison a 3-0 lead with two minutes remaining in the first half. Herman turned away many scoring attempts by Nichols as she posted 13 saves in the frame.
Pettoruto completed the hat-trick with an unassisted tally after 3:42 expired in the second stanza. Sarah Bailey closed out the scoring with a pair of goals which were both set up by Eileen Clinton.
