Deanna Lentz and Anna Ayuso Acquire NEWMAC Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the third consecutive year, Deanna Lentz was named to the NEWMAC Field Hockey All-Conference First-Team. Also honored was junior forward Anna Ayuso, who was named to the Second-Team for the first time.

Lentz was also a Second-Team selection her freshman year and now holds an Institute record for four All-Conference selections. She posted six goals and eight assists for 20 points this year, moving her into a tie with Stephanie Maifert as MIT's second all-time leading point scorer (92). Lentz also moved into third all-time in assists (22) and tied for fourth in goals (34).

Deanna Lentz earned an Institute record third consecutive NEWMAC First-Team All-Conference selection and her fourth All-Conference selection overall.


Anna Ayuso had a breakout season for the Engineers on her way to becoming a NEWMAC Second-Team All-Conference selection. She totaled eight goals and eight assists for a career-high 24 points, up from four goals and three assists in the 2004 season. Ayuso started in all 18 games for MIT.
