Emily Young Named NEWMAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Boston, Mass. (April 18) – For the second time this season the NEWMAC selected MIT junior Emily Young (La Jolla, Calif.) as the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. In a 2-0 week for the Engineers, she totaled 12 goals for 12 points, 10 draw controls, and four groundballs.

Young began things last Wednesday with six goals, four draw controls, and two groundballs in a 14-10 win at Smith College. She recorded four of her goals during MIT's pivotal 8-2 run in the second half that turned a 6-6 tie into a 14-8 lead. Young then produced six goals, six draw controls, and two groundballs in a 20-16 victory at Mount Holyoke College on Friday.

MIT returns to action on Wednesday, April 29 when it hosts NEWMAC rival Wheaton College at 7:00 p.m.
