Boston, Mass. (May 3) – The MIT women's lacrosse team had seven student-athletes receive NEWMAC Academic All-Conference accolades as announced by the league last week. The list is comprised of 37 student-athletes who earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the 2016 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the team for the entire season.
Seniors Erica Green (Ivyland, Pa.) and Devin Williams (Washington, D.C.) received their third award while senior Hannah Levy (Yardley, Pa.) along with junior Eva Boal (Princeton Junction, N.J.) were repeat honorees. Junior Jack Simmons (Houston, Texas) in addition to sophomores Shannon Francis (Houston, Texas) and Lucy Halperin (Seattle, Wash.) made the list for the first time.
MIT (8-8, 4-4 NEWMAC) returns to action on Saturday, May 6 as the No. 5 seed of the NEWMAC Championship Tournament. The Engineers continue their postseason by traveling to No. 1 Springfield College for a semifinal game with a start time to be determined.
