NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--Massachusetts Institute of Technology netted
four first half goals on their way to a 6-0 win over Smith College
in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference women's soccer
action on Saturday afternoon.
Alisha Lussiez opened the scoring when she slotted home a pass
from Emily Kuo in the 15th minute. Lussiez then set up Lauren Hernley (Elizabethtown, Pa.) for a goal in the 29th, and the
Engineers (8-2, 2-1 NEWMAC) made it 4-0 at halftime with goals from
Michaelann Rodriguez and Allison Park.
Lussiez got her second of the game 13 minutes into the second
half, and Leslie Meyer made it 6-0 just 47 seconds later.
Lindsey Gregor made three saves for Smith (1-6-1, 0-2-1 NEWMAC),
while Meghan Wright made three for MIT.
Both teams will be in NEWMAC action on Tuesday, October 5.
Smith will make the short trip south to play Springfield, while MIT
will battle WPI at home.
