WELLESLEY, Mass. – For the second year in a row, the MIT women's soccer team saw five athletes receive All-Conference plaudits from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Juniors Emily Kuo (Chicago, Ill.) and Andrea Park (Irvine, Calif.) were voted to the first team while sophomore Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, N.Y.), freshman Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.), and junior Meghan Wright (Devon, Pa.) represented the Engineers on the second team.
Kuo received her third first team selection after leading MIT in goals (six), assists (six), points (18), and game-winning goals (four). She is tied for first in the NEWMAC in assists and second in game-winning goals in addition to ranking sixth in points and eighth in goals.
A second team pick last year, Park anchors a defense that has generated nine shutouts and a 0.67 goals against average. She has also posted two goals, both of which are game-winners, and one assist to tie for fourth on the squad in goals and points (five).
Both Dias Carlson and Krishnamachar were first-time honorees for the Cardinal and Gray. Playing in the central midfield, Dias Carlson totaled three goals, including two game-winners, and three assists for nine points. In her rookie season, Krishnamachar registered five goals, two assists, and 12 points to rank second on the squad in goals and points.
Wright was tabbed for her second NEWMAC award after ranking third in the league in save percentage (.896) and fourth in goals allowed (12), goals against average (0.60), and saves (103). She has also compiled nine shutouts and a record of 14-2-3 this season.
