  • Women’s Soccer Places Three on NEWISA All-New England Teams

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Meghan Wright (Devon, Pa.), Emily Kuo (Chicago, Ill.) and Andrea Park (Irvine, Calif.) earned 2012 New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Division III All-New England honors on Wednesday morning. Wright and Kuo were named to the first team and Park was tabbed to the second team.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Andrea Park (Irvine, Calif.) and juniors Kaitlyn Nealon (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Women’s Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention Team on Tuesday.
  • Martin Desmarais Named New England Coach of the Year

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was recently announced that MIT women’s soccer head coach Martin Desmarais was named the NSCAA Division III New England Coach of the Year. He will be recognized at the organization’s national convention in January and will appear on the national ballot for NSCAA Division III Coach of the Year.
  • Andrea Park and Emily Kuo Named ECAC All-Stars

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Andrea Park (Irvine, Calif.) and Emily Kuo (Chicago, Ill.) were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Division III All-Star team on Thursday. Park was one of five defenders and Kuo was one of four forwards selected. Only three other MIT women’s soccer players have been named to the team, the first of which being Lauren Hernley in 2009.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Emily Kuo (Chicago, Ill.) and Meghan Wright (Devon, Pa.) were recently named to the 2012 NCAA Division III Women’s All-New England North teams, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Kuo, who just became the first MIT women’s soccer player in program history to be named an All-American, was tabbed to the first team, and Wright was named to the fourth team.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was announced last week that MIT’s Emily Kuo (Chicago, Ill.), Meghan Wright (Devon, Pa.) and Andrea Park (Irvine, Calif.) were selected to play in this weekend’s annual New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. The game, which features the best seniors from across New England, will be played at the fields of Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2.

  • NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Awards

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A league-leading 57 athletes represented MIT on the 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Fall Academic All-Conference Team. Criteria includes a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale, achieving second year academic status at his or her institution, and being a member of a varsity team for the entire season.
  • Emily Kuo Voted as NEWMAC Athlete of the Year

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT senior Emily Kuo (Chicago, Ill.) was voted as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Year. This is the third time in the past four years that the award has gone to an MIT student-athlete. With the honor, Kuo also earned an automatic spot on the NEWMAC All-Conference team, where she was joined by three other Engineers.

MIT are now 10-2-1 for the season, while the Eagles fell to 5-10.
