Fleischmann Named NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior defender Samantha Fleischmann (Eastchester, N.Y.) was named the women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring both game-winning goals in MIT's 2-0 week with NEWMAC wins over Wellesley College and Mount Holyoke College.

Against Wellesley, Fleischmann registered an assist on the opening goal and scored the game-ending goal two minutes into double overtime to secure MIT's victory over the Blue, 2-1. In the game against Mount Holyoke, she scored the first goal that helped lead to the 3-0 decision.

MIT will next travel to Husson University on Tuesday, Oct. 9 for a 4:00 p.m. game.
