Brighid Wood is in her first year as an assistant coach at MIT.
Before arriving at MIT, Wood coached at a number of institutions, including Cornell University, Washington and Jefferson College and San Jose State University. Wood has worked with top club teams such as MVLA and DeAnza Force, as well as with PA West ODP and at camps such as Stanford, UNC, Santa Clara, Cal Berkeley, SoccerPlus, Julie Foudy Leadership Academy, UPenn, Cornell, Navy and Penn State.
Wood is the founder and head trainer of the Ellite Athlete Development Academy, an organization that is dedicated to training the elite athletes of the Bay Area. She is The Harker School Boys’ Soccer Coach and Operations Assistant and also works for U.S. Soccer as part of the event staff for the U.S. Development Academy.
She has her USSF C License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA State Diploma, NSCAA Regional Diploma, NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA National Youth Diploma, NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma I, II, III, FA Player and Match Analysis Course.
She played soccer at Seton Hall University and completed her undergraduate degree at Penn State.
