Sept. 6, 2008

Box Score

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State defense held MIT to just five shots and the No. 21 nationally-ranked Lancers slipped past the Engineers, 1-0, in non-conference women’s soccer action on Sunday afternoon. The Blue and Gold upped their record to 2-0-1 while the Cardinal and Gray dropped to 1-2.

Ending a scoreless gridlock that lasted for nearly 65 minutes of play, senior Amanda Beaudet broke the tie on a cross from classmate Tiffany Rotatori. After taking the lead, the Lancers surrendered only one more shot the rest of the way as sophomore Erin Doherty secured the shut out.

Beaudet and Amanda Santos led the Worcester State attack with four shots while the Lancers out-shot the Engineers, 15-5, on the afternoon.

Despite notching six saves, senior Stephanie Brenman was credited with the loss for MIT.
