Worcester, Mass.- The Worcester State College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Engineers of MIT Saturday afternoon, 1-0, in an overtime affair at Worcester State's Coughlin Field, to remain unbeaten on the season. Worcester State improves to 3-0 on the season while MIT suffers its first blemish of the 2006 campaign falling to 2-1.

The two teams played to a scoreless tie through 97 minutes before sophomore forward Amanda Santos netted the game-winner on a breakaway in the 98th minute off a pass from junior midfielder Lauren Cush.

Both net minders were tested throughout the contest as Worcester State goalkeeper Kim Massa remained unscored upon this year after stopping nine Engineer offerings on the day. MIT keeper Kat Vater made seven saves against the Lancers.
