CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT women's soccer team received its first National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award after posting a team GPA of 3.44 for the 2004-05 school year. Out of 221 teams in the nation earning this honor with a minimum GPA of 3.0, the Engineers finished tied for 26th. Among Division III programs, Tech was tied for eighth out of 76 schools and led the way against its NEWMAC foes (Smith College, 3.25; Wheaton College, 3.22; and Mount Holyoke College, 3.07).
