CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Junior Amy Ludlum was selected as the NEWMAC Player of the Week in women's soccer after an explosive performance in the Engineers' conference opener at Mount Holyoke. Ludlum had a hand in all five of MIT's goals as the Engineers topped their entire 2005 win total with a 5-0 victory against the Lyons. Ludlum tied an Institute record with eight points after scoring three goals and adding two assists.
Ludlum's hat trick was her first since September 20, 2005, when she accounted for all the scoring in a 3-0 win against Fitchburg State. Ludlum entered the 2006 season with 17 career goals. Adding in Saturday's total, she has 22 career finishes and is tied with Candace Wilson '03 for sixth place on the MIT all-time scoring list.
