CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Softball head coach Julie Fox has decided to step down from her head coaching duties at MIT effective May 31. During her four seasons with the Engineers, the squad established 13 individual and six team records. Fox also guided the program to its first wins over several regional opponents, including New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Springfield College.
Under Fox’s guidance, the Engineers improved their winning percentage in each of the past three seasons, culminating in a seven-win campaign in 2010, the program’s most successful season in 12 years.
“Julie is dedicated to the game of softball and has served MIT and our student-athletes well during her tenure,” noted Director of Athletics Julie Soriero. “The DAPER community wishes her well and we look forward to building on the foundation she has established for our softball program."
