Softball Adds Six Freshmen to Roster for 2014

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – An incoming freshman class of five student-athletes are slated to join the MIT softball team for the 2014 season announced head coach Jennifer Williams. Three hail from California with one from Montana and the other from New Hampshire.

"The MIT Softball family is thrilled to welcome our incoming freshmen class," said Williams. "We know they will have a great impact over their four years on the team."

Mackenzie Donnelly (Helena, Mont., Helena High School): Lettered as a pitcher/infielder … all-conference pick in 2012 … team captain … also played volleyball and basketball … National Honor Society … Valedictorian … National Merit Scholarship finalist … Presidential Scholar candidate … 4.0 cumulative GPA.

Monica Shifflet (Poway, Calif., Del Norte High School): Lettered in both softball and cross country … defensive player of the year as an infielder … team captain … National Honor Society … California Scholarship Federation … CSF President.
