CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Anna Kokensparger (Omaha, Neb.) was named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's Swimmer of the Week on Monday afternoon. Kokensparger helped lead the Engineers to wins against Wellesley, Babson and Bowdoin over the weekend.
In the meet against Wellesley on Saturday, Kokensparger was part of the winning 200 medley relay that finished five seconds before the rest of the heat. She also won the 200 IM in 2:09.43, dropping a bit of time from the last time she swam the event against Springfield, and finished second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.90.
Against Babson and Bowdoin on Saturday, she won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:09.02 and came second in the 100 butterfly in 58.19. She was also the anchor of the winning 400 freestyle relay.
So far this season, MIT has a record of 4-0. The Engineers will return to the pool from Nov. 30- Dec. 1 for the MIT Winter Invitational.
