Matt Karmondy enters his second season as an assistant coach for MIT. He hopes to make a significant impact with the men and women's teams, especially in the distance swimming program. A 2006 Air Force Academy graduate, Karmondy swam for the Falcons under Rob Clayton for four years. A distance freestyle specialist, Karmondy was twice selected as a member of the All Mountain West Conference swim team. In 2006, Karmondy was honored as the MWC Male Student-Athlete of the Year and received the MWC Swimming and Diving Senior Recognition Award.
An NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Winner, Karmondy is attending graduate school at MIT for Aeronautics and Astronautics while he awaits Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training.
