Dutt Named NEWMAC Singles Player of the Week

Wellesley, Mass. – Freshman Michelle Dutt (Gurnee, Ill.) of the MIT women's tennis team has been selected New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for her play in a pair of matches last week.

Against No. 5 Tufts, she bounced back from a first set loss to her opponent at No. 2 singles to take a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, victory.  She then moved up to the No. 1 singles position against NEWMAC foe Mount Holyoke and did not miss a beat, taking a 7-5, 6-3, win that helped the Engineers remain undefeated in conference play. So far on the young season she has a 4-0 singles record and is 3-1 in doubles play.
