Vishnevetsky Named NEWMAC Player of the Week
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Anastasia Vishnevetsky (Orange, Conn.) strong showing at the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament this past weekend has earned her the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Singles Player of the Week award. It is her first conference honor of the season and the team's third.
Playing for the MIT #2 team, Vishnevetsky won a pair of singles matches. In her first outing of the weekend she downed Ana Gwozdz from Salve Regina University, 8-3. In her next match she staged a come-from-behind win, defeating Shelci Bowman of Tufts University in a tight three-setter, 4-6, 6-0, 10-5. The two victories improved Vishevetsky's record to an impressive 7-1 this season. She is undefeated in NEWMAC play at 5-0.
