CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A highly regarded group of incoming freshmen will be added to the roster of the MIT women's tennis program for the 2012-13 season head coach Carol Matsuzaki has announced. The incoming class of seven student-athletes has been ranked the sixth-best group of freshman in the nation at the Division III level. The Engineers finished the 2011-12 season with an 11-8 overall record and were tied for 30th with the University of California at Santa Cruz in the final national rankings.
"I am very excited for the upcoming season," remarked Matsuzaki. "We lost only one starter to graduation, so we have a strong returning team and we are welcoming a strong incoming group that is ranked #6 in the country."
