CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After winning a pair of singles matches last week, junior Lauren Quisenberry (Corpus Christi, Texas) of the MIT women's tennis team was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference singles Player of the Week the league announced today. It is the second time this season that an Engineer has won the award.
Quisenberry started her week with a 6-2, 6-2 win in her No. 1 singles match at Tufts and then finished the week off with another straight sets victory, a 6-0, 6-2 decision over her opponent from NEWMAC foe Mount Holyoke. The wins kept Quisenberry's record perfect at 4-0 this season, with all of her victories coming in straight sets in the No. 1 position.
