CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the third time this season junior Lauren Quisenberry (Corpus Christi, Texas) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference women's tennis Singles Player of the Week. Quisenberry won a pair of matches last week for the Engineers to claim the award.
Playing at No. 1 singles the junior started her week by playing the only other player in the league that was undefeated in No. 1 play, Lyndsay Cooke of Wheaton. Quisenberry came out the victor to become the only player in the NEWMAC without a loss at No. 1, taking a 6-1, 6-2 decision. She then finished the week in fine style, scoring a 6-0, 6-0 win against her opponent from Smith to help MIT clinch the NEWMAC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in this weekend's NEWMAC Women's Tennis Championships.
