Amy Zhang joins the MIT women’s tennis coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2014-15 season. Off the court she is pursuing her Ph.D. in computer science at MIT.

Zhang graduated in from Rutgers University in 2011 and was a four-year standout for the Scarlet Knights in tennis. Playing most of her tennis in the No. 1 singles and doubles positions, she compiled a career record of 67-18 in singles and 62-24 in doubles. Zhang was twice named All-BIG EAST as well as a two-time team MVP. In 2011 she was the national winner of the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, earned Academic All-America honors and was honored with the Headley-Singer Award as Rutgers’ Outstanding Senior Female Athlete.

In 2012 Zhang was awarded a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge where she played on the Women’s Varsity Blues squad.
