CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The women's track team hosted the non scoring Coed Invitational on Saturday, April 22. Freshman Emily Hwang, sophomore Aline Thomas and junior Chi-Fong Wang picked up event victories for MIT.
Hwang won the pole vault with a mark of 10-06.00. Wang threw the javelin 125-07.75 to win the event. In the hammer throw, Thomas continued her impressive campaign and took first (146-00). She also finished fourth in the shot put.
Also in the field events, sophomore Karen Davie jumped to third place (15-11.00). In the distance events, junior Alisha Schor secured third place with a time of 18:40.80, and sophomore Ericka Erickson took fourth in the 1500 meter run.
The Engineers are back at home next Saturday, April 29, to host the NEWMAC championships. The competition will begin at 11:00 a.m.
