CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT women's volleyball program was one of 12 teams to earn the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Academic Team Award. Squads must attain a minimum grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale during the fall semester.
Also making the cut was Amherst College, Bowdoin College, Connecticut College, Middlebury College, Norwich University, Roger Williams University, Smith College, Springfield College, Tufts University, University of New England, and Williams College.
Established nearly 25 years ago, NEWVA is open to all collegiate institutions in New England sponsoring Division III women's volleyball. Membership has grown to nearly 60 members in 2011, representing nine different conferences. For all the latest news, visit www.newvad3.com.
