Why I Chose MIT: I chose MIT because of the sense of community among students. I'd heard stories about the competition between students at other schools that sometimes escalated into one student stealing another's backpack as sabotage. I didn't want to spend four years of my life in an environment like that. Yes, MIT is challenging, but students thrive by working with their classmates. It's not student vs. student but rather students vs. pset.
