MIT is the all-time Division III leader in producing Academic All-Americas and ranks third across all NCAA divisions with 192 honors. Women's Volleyball to Face UMass Boston in NCAA TournamentCAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the program’s 15th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2007, the MIT women’s volleyball team will take on local foe UMass Boston on Friday, Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at Connecticut College. The meeting will be the first between both squads in post-season action and seventh overall since the series began in 1975. MIT Sweeps Wellesley for NEWMAC Volleyball CrownWELLESLEY, Mass. – Behind the strength of efficient hitting and solid defense, the MIT women’s volleyball team defeated host and top seed Wellesley College, 25-17, 26-24, 25-15, in the 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Sunday afternoon. The No. 3 Engineers (30-5) collected their first title since 1990 and fourth overall to earn a spot in the upcoming NCAA Championship Tournament. Junior Kristine Bunker (Falmouth, Mass.) was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after compiling 28 kills, a .313 hitting percentage, and 15 blocks.
