BOSTON, Mass. – For the second year in a row, MIT senior Kristine Bunker (Falmouth, Mass.) was named to the NEWMAC Volleyball All-Conference first team while classmate Tatiana Berger (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) became a first-time honoree with a selection to the second team. With the awards, the Engineers have extended their streak to 25 consecutive seasons with at least one conference plaudit.
A middle hitter, Bunker currently ranks 14th in the nation in hitting percentage (.374) while leading the NEWMAC in the same category. Within the league, she also stands fourth in block assists (58), sixth in total blocks (69), seventh in solo blocks (11), ninth in blocks per set (0.60), and 10th in kills (272). Berger, an outside hitter, is fifth in the NEWMAC in kills (323) and sixth in kills per set (3.02) while ranking third on the team in digs (192) and fourth in aces (38).
