CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Alex May and Liz Theurer were awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships following the 2009 fall season. May, an outside hitter on the women’s volleyball team, and Theurer, a forward for the women’s soccer squad, became the first athletes from their respective programs to earn this honor. READ MORE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT women’s volleyball program was one of seven teams to earn the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Academic Team Award. Squads must attain a minimum grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale during the fall semester. READ MORE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Samantha Lampert, currently in her sixth season as an assistant coach with MIT’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams, was a recipient of the Rick Pierce Award which was presented by the Yankee Volleyball Association this past weekend. Named in his memory, the award is given annually to one man and one woman who exemplify the characteristics that made Pierce so special: great sportsmanship, a respected player, and a person who volunteers their time to the sport without need for compensation or recognition.
